Hetzner Online is a professional web hosting provider and experienced data center operator. Since 1997 the company has provided private and business clients with high-performance hosting products as well as the necessary infrastructure for the efficient operation of websites. In addition to the Hetzner Online Data Center Park in Nuremberg, a further modular and energy-efficient data center park has been established in Falkenstein in recent years. Since the summer of 2009, several data center units have been put into operation in Falkenstein. The data center park has more than 100,000 m² buildable space in total. The Hetzner Online Data Center Park is built to the highest standards: To guarantee data centers receive an uninterruptible supply of power, Hetzner Online draws its energy redundantly from the network provider. Power is supplied via two separate routes from the directly adjacent substation to the redundantly laid out transformers. The A/B track concept allows for an even higher level of available power. Thanks to the N+1 principle, the state-of-the-art modular UPS facility is in a position to provide a continuous supply of power even if one module should fail. In the event of a prolonged period of outage, backup power systems generate the entire supply of power for the data centers. Direct free cooling is used to cool IT hardware. Free cooling mode accounts for up to 92 percent of all cooling, thereby protecting the environment. This concept has earned Hetzner Online the "Green IT Best Practice Award" from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in Berlin. Furthermore, TÜV SÜD has granted the company certification for a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) factor of 1.1242, the best PUE result ever recorded during certification by TÜV SÜD.
